Brianne Sayers

brianne

Hi, my name is Brianne Sayers. I’m from Hickory, NC and I am a senior at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (Class of 2014). I am majoring in International Studies and double minoring in History and Hispanic Studies. Prior to my internship at the Smithsonian Office of Fellowships and Internships, I worked as an intern at a law firm. Being in DC for the summer and having an internship through the Smithsonian is an awesome opportunity because I have been able to get a better idea of what goes on behind the scenes at a museum. My duties here at the office include data entry, filing and archiving information, scanning, etc. I am also working on Project Search, which is a program that places mentally handicapped young people into internship positions for a year. This will be the first year that the Smithsonian launches its own chapter of this program.

I spent a semester abroad in Sevilla, Spain in fall of 2012. Travelling through Europe was one of my favorite experiences. My hobbies include reading, cooking, yoga, and exploring unknown places.
