Incoming NMAH Intern Emma deVries

Emma deVries, a University of Nebraska–Lincoln (UNL) senior who has a dual major in art and anthropology, has received a Smithsonian Internship to work at the National Museum of American History (NMAH) this summer.

“I’m really excited,” deVries said. “The Smithsonian is so world-renowned. This is really what I want to do. I want to work at an international museum, so that will be really beneficial. I really love learning, so if I’m able to teach someone else, that’s what I want to do. Making [an exhibit] visually interesting allows people to actually take the time and read it. It makes them engaged. I just always enjoy sharing what I know.”
