Fancy Flemish Fine Art
Lauren Eames, an intern with the Cooper Hewitt National Design Library (CHNDM) and Smithsonian Institution Library (SIL), guest wrote a blog post on the “Unbound” blog. Lauren examined, explained, and gave a little background on 15th-century illuminated prayer book from Flanders, in present day Belgium.
There’s lots to learn from Lauren’s insights about religion, art, and history through analysis of this prayer book. Check out her blog post for an in depth analysis on this fantastic intricate drawing. You can read it all about it here.
