Langley High School Senior Lily Zhang was encouraged to leap into a brief internship at the Smithsonian’s Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden (HMSG) in conjunction with Smithsonian Libraries (SIL) . She is one of the students fortunate enough to participate in the 10-day Langley Leap program at her high school. Zhang was even able to delve into the art world and emerge with new found favorites such as Flavin’s Untitled (to Helga and Carlo, with Respect and Affection). The small tasks that she completed and the information gained through the library broadened Zhang’s understanding of art and the activities that must back every exhibit. Details about her experience as a short term intern can be found here.
