Naked Gobies!
Smithsonian Environmental Research Center (SERC) summer interns, Laurel Martinez and Ken Wesley, are staying busy in the marine ecology lab. Laurel is studying the side effects of climate change on the naked goby fish and must sort through a lot of the little nude critters to get results! Both Laurel and Ken are learning through other various projects in the marine ecology lab’s Room of DOOM (Dissolved Oxygen Oyster Mortality) when not studying their specific marine animal of choice.
You can read more about the projects of Laurel and Ken on the SERC “Shorliness” blogs here!
