Be an Ocean Intern!
The National Museum of Natural History (NMNH) is currently accepting applications for three internship opportunities with a focus on the oceans. These internships do not have definite start and end dates, but the intern is usually required to stay for a minimum of 12 weeks. The qualifications required for each internship varies.
The Ocean Education and Outreach - Perceptions of Beauty Internship revolves around the public outreach project “Vote for Beauty.” Objects from the collection are used to help analyze people’s perceptions of beauty.
The Education and Outreach - Ocean Science Outreach Internship focuses on designing, testing and evaluating the educational materials available in the Sant Ocean Hall and Q?rius and the National Museum of Natural History (NMNH). The intern would work with the NMNH Ocean Education Team throughout.
The expression of a mitochondrial polymerase in the box jellyfish Alatina (Cnidaria, Medusoza, Cubozoa) Internship focuses on analyzing genes in the mitochondrial DNA of the box jellyfish Alatina. The intern will gain experience working in a lab and using bioinformatics tools, as well as creating reports, presentations and scientific papers.
