The Smithsonian Science Education Center Internship Program (SSEC) is currently looking for summer interns! If you are interested in improving the teaching and learning of science for K-12 students, then you might be interested in some of the internships offered by the SSEC!
Some interest areas available for interns are:
1. Professional Services Division
2. Curriculum and Communications Division
Eligibility
As there are a wide range of opportunities for learning, SSEC accepts applications from students currently enrolled in undergraduate or graduate programs, as well as high school students (at least 16 years old). The SSEC is actively seeking a diverse applicant pool. The internship lasts for 10 weeks, which is flexible on the start and end dates determined by the student. All interns must successfully complete a Federal background check before their internship begins. We are located in a secured office building which is handicap accessible.
Application
SSEC will start accepting applications for the summer 2016 internship class on January 1, 2016. The deadline for all applications is March 15, 2016. Your application must include:
1. Resume or CV
2. Writing Sample
3. Three references from supervisors, teachers, or professors who have observed you in the classroom or workplace.
