Cluneing Around

Katy Clune had the unique opportunity of driving a golf cart around the Folklife Festival!

In 2009, Katy Clune started as an intern at the Center for Folklife and Cultural Heritage (CFCH). Now a freelance digital editor and multimedia storyteller in Durham, North Carolina, Clune thanks the Center for her continuous exposure as an intern.

During her time as an intern, she had the opportunity to learn about organizing the Folklife Festival. Her primary responsibilities were to track down photos, secure rights, and submit content to the staff designer for on-site signs and the Festival program book. Succeeding in her internship, Clune was taken on as a “program book coordinator,” in which entailed moving between information booths and volunteers on her own golf cart!

Moving forward, Clune is curating and coordinating a series of programs for the National Fold Festival in Greensboro, North Carolina, presented in coordination with Arts Greensboro.
