Flying in from Alabama

Posted on March 14, 2016 by in The OFI Blog

Elizabeth McFarland is a University of Alabama junior with an archeological anthropology major and both English and Italian minors! She currently works at the Alabama Museum of Natural History and is looking forward to further participation in museum work.

McFarland will be joining the Ornithology Department of the Smithsonian Institution’s National Museum of Natural History (NMNH) for a weeklong internship. She will be learning from Dr. Teresa Feo’s study of the bird specimens in the museum’s collections in regards to potential evolutionary patterns.

You can read a recently published article describing McFarland’s many previous achievements and her excitement for this new opportunity in The Gasden Times here.
