Former Fellow Spreads Her Wings

Dr. Nicola Nadeau, a former fellow at STRI

Dr. Nicola Nadeau had previously completed a fellowship with the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute (STRI). Now, Nicola has teamed up with her former colleague, Dr. Owen McMillan, a staff scientist at STRI, to co-author an article published in Nature. The researchers identified variations in the gene that correspond to wing color and pattern variation in three different Heliconius butterfly species.
