Layers of Science
Benjamin is a high school senior in Washington D.C. who is interested in studying biology. In 2016 Benjamin was a YES! (Youth Engagement through Science) Global Genome intern at the National Museum of Natural History (NMNH) where he worked on barcoding the DNA of lizards and geckos.
Toward the end of his project, Benjamin had the opportunity to present his own Ted-Ed-Style talk. You can watch the talk in the video above in which Benjamin reflects on how his perception of science changed as the internship helped him to see its many layers. You can also read Benjamin’s recent blog post about his YES! internship experience here.
Applications for the summer 2017 YES! internship program are available here on the Q?rius website and are due 1/27/17.
