Maria Kahn will intern at the Smithsonian this summer

As a double major in both social studies education and history, Miami University sophomore Maria Kahn aspires to be a teacher who promotes messages of diversity and tolerance to all her students. In a few weeks, Maria will be able to work closer towards her goal than she has before.

This summer, Maria is headed to the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History & Culture (NMAAHC) for an internship! During this time, she will help facilitate programs that promote diversity and be directly involved in leading a workshop for educators and students called “Let’s Talk! Teaching Race in the Classroom.”

To learn more about Maria’s once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, read all about it on the Miami University’s College of Education, Health, & Society website here.
